Israel Moves Ahead with Expansion of West Bank Settlement Units
The Palestinian Commission Against the Wall and Settlements stated that Israel’s Higher Planning Council, operating under the Civil Administration within the Israeli military structure, is set to convene on Wednesday to review a new package of settlement expansion projects.
In its statement, the commission said the proposals include 2,721 housing units spread across multiple settlements in the West Bank, along with additional zoning and structural measures intended to expand settlement areas and reinforce their legal and planning status.
According to the commission, the planned units are distributed across several locations, including 1,006 units in the Givat settlement near Bethlehem, 922 in Har Bracha south of Nablus, 455 in Mevo Dotan west of Jenin, and 234 in Kiryat Arba east of Hebron.
The statement added that the agenda also includes discussions on construction boundaries, land-use modifications, and regulatory adjustments affecting several settlements across the territory.
