Gaza Bleeds: Three Children Killed in Israeli Drone Attack

(MENAFN) An Israeli drone strike tore through a civilian gathering in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday evening, killing five Palestinians — among them three children — and wounding several others, a medical source told media.

A source at Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed that the bodies of all five victims, including the three children, were transported to the facility, accompanied by a number of wounded individuals, one of whom arrived in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses on the ground reported that the Israeli strike zeroed in on a group of Palestinians assembled near Al-Qassam Mosque in the area, triggering multiple casualties. Ambulances rushed the dead and injured to Al-Shifa Hospital, an Anadolu correspondent on the scene confirmed.

The deadly strike is the latest in a relentless pattern of bloodshed Israel has inflicted since a ceasefire was brokered last October. Since that agreement took effect, Israeli violations have claimed the lives of 786 Palestinians and left 2,217 others wounded, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.

The truce had been intended to draw a definitive close to a two-year Israeli military offensive on Gaza — a campaign that has left more than 72,000 people dead and 172,000 injured, while devastating 90% of the territory's civilian infrastructure. The scale of destruction is staggering: the UN estimates that rebuilding Gaza will require approximately $70 billion.
