Rising Israeli Attacks Cause Nine Deaths, Displacement in West Bank

(MENAFN) Over the past month, more than 400 incidents by Israeli forces in the West Bank have resulted in fatalities and displacement, according to a Palestinian commission. The Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that 443 attacks occurred during this period, claiming the lives of nine Palestinians and forcing six Bedouin communities to leave their homes.

Muayyad Shaaban, head of the commission, described the assaults as “escalatory and organized,” noting that they involved live gunfire, deliberate arson against homes and property, and efforts to impose new realities on the ground that would alter the West Bank’s geographic and demographic landscape.

The commission stated that these operations spanned all governorates of the West Bank, with Nablus in the north and Hebron in the south experiencing the highest concentration. Over the past four weeks, nine Palestinians were killed in separate locations. Additionally, six Bedouin communities were displaced, affecting 58 families totaling 256 individuals, including 79 women and 166 children.

The statement further highlighted that Israeli forces attempted to establish 14 new settlement outposts, committed 123 acts of property vandalism, and carried out 18 attacks that caused fires in civilian areas, alongside three assaults targeting religious sites.

Shaaban noted that during the same timeframe, Israeli authorities issued 12 military orders to seize approximately 225 dunams of Palestinian land for military purposes and 27 orders to uproot trees across 1,391 dunams in multiple governorates.

He emphasized that this escalation reflects a “systematic policy exploiting global distraction by ongoing war” and warned that continuing such actions would seriously threaten prospects for regional stability.
