Netanyahu Criticizes Gaza Committee’s Logo Change
“The logo of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) which was presented to Israel was entirely different from the one published this evening,” Netanyahu’s office stated, according to Israeli media on Monday.
“Israel will not accept the use of a Palestinian Authority symbol; the Palestinian Authority will have no part in the administration of Gaza,” the statement continued.
Netanyahu has consistently pushed for a complete separation between the two entities and strongly opposes any involvement of the PA in Gaza. Nonetheless, he acknowledged last week that PA officials would participate in the operational framework at the Rafah Border Crossing connecting Gaza and Egypt.
The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza has not yet responded to Netanyahu's comments.
The committee was created as part of the implementation of phase two of US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. It operates alongside a founding Executive Board and a Gaza Executive Board that supports its activities.
The NCAG is a non-political organization responsible for overseeing day-to-day civil service matters. Its membership includes 11 prominent Palestinian figures, led by chairman Ali Shaath.
